It's the unofficial start to summer and in our house that also means the school countdown for my kids (and husband) is down to the single digits 😎

To help you save time (and avoid unreliable, outdated google info) I wanted to share the essentials for keeping your baby safe in the sun!

Sunscreen:

  • According to the AAP baby should be at least 6 months old before using sunscreen
  • Use 30-50 spf
  • If baby will be in the water look for 80 minutes of water resistance
  • 3 ingredients you DON’T want in your baby’s sunscreen are: oxybenzone, vitamin A & insect repellant

Watch the clock:

  • When possible take baby out in the early morning or late afternoon rather in the middle of the day when temperatures are the highest.

Car seat heat 🔥

  • Do NOT cover your baby’s car seat with a cover. Temps rise quickly in confined spaces and this can be really dangerous.
