I've helped hundreds of people feel prepared!

There's a lot of paperwork & waiting when adopting. But then you're going to have a baby. . . I want to get you prepared for that part!

If you're preparing to adopt you're likely feeling all sorts of emotions as you get ready to welcome a baby!

Whether or not you've been matched you likely want to feel as prepared as possible when you get "that call".

But, it feels like there is A LOT to know!

It feels like they should give you an owner's manual before you leave the hospital!

I understand! I've spent years working in the homes of new families!

Hi, I'm' Valerie.

I'm a DONA Certified Postpartum Doula (PCD), a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and the mother of three, including a set of twins!
For years I've worked in the homes of new families immediately after they brought their babies home. What I've learned during this time is that people are excited, but they're afraid of what they don't know. That's why I created this course!
From what gear these little people require to how to care for and feed them, I've totally got you covered on this new parent thing!

As you prepare to adopt I want to be able to provide information to put your mind at ease!

"It is the most helpful resource we've had as we prepare to adopt"

It's like you were just talking to us and explaining things in the most basic way and that helped so much because as first-time parents these are the things we've never done before.

                                            - John & Beth

Bonding with the baby is really important to you and you're looking for ways to bond in the early weeks and months!

You'd love to have someone walk you through the day-to-day tasks of caring for a newborn!

You're not sure how you'll figure out WHY your baby is crying or HOW to soothe her so she stops!

You know you can't sleep train a newborn but you'd like to know what you can do so you ALL get as much sleep as possible!

"Thank you so much for helping us prepare to adopt!"

I love the continued support of the monthly Q and A’s and we are so glad we signed up for the course! Our baby Oliver is 3 months old and for the first month my husbands favorite question was “what does the doula say about that?”

"A lot of key nuggets that stuck in my head came from this course!"

It gave my husband the basics to know as he’s never been a part of taking care of a baby. It was a nerve calmer for him! For me, the course helped refresh my memory from all the babysitting classes I took growing up... though you pay A LOT more attention when you’re learning for your own child. We’ve referred back to videos multiple times since we’ve been home with our baby boy!

                                                    -Bobbi & Ben

"The soothing techniques were so important and we used them a lot!"

As first time parents we had so many questions about how to care for our baby in those first weeks home. This course gave us the confidence we needed to be the best parents we could even with sleep deprivation and a lot of dirty diapers!

                                       -Emily & Joe

"There's no where else you can find all this information in one place"

Every Sunday we would cast our computer to the TV and view at least one section. It was nice to look forward to this bonding time while soaking up all the new info for our first little one on the way. There’s no where else you can find all this information in one place. Plus, Valerie is right there with you along the way.

                                       -Lauren & Patrick

"Expecting 101 has helped so much in preparing for a baby "

Expecting 101 has helped so much in preparing for a baby and now in the first weeks. The videos are informative, easy and full of great tips. Thanks for all the advice!

I've spent years teaching all of this to families in the weeks after their baby's arrival!

But I get it. . . for some people, one-on-one care isn't in the budget! (It definitely wasn't for me when I had my kids).

It doesn't have to cost $1500/week for you to feel confident & prepared. . .and ready to welcome your baby!

I want to be sure you're happy!

Expecting 101 is a comprehensive course that covers a ton of information. As far as I know there isn't anything like it!
I think you're going to love the convenience of being able to watch from the comfort of your home whenever you want to.  And, being able to re-watch as you encounter different situations will be reassuring.
If for some reason you go through the course and are not satisfied with Expecting 101 please send us an email within 14 days of purchase.  The only thing I ask is that, before your money is refunded, we have a quick 15 minute phone call so I can find out how to better improve the course!
But again, I think you're going to love Expecting 101!

You Might Have Some Questions. . .

You have access to the course and Monthly Chats for 2 years.

I realize that the adoption process can take some time and I want to give you  plenty of time to watch the course and then re-watch any sections you'd like to as you encounter different situations after the baby arrives.

The course is divided into five chapters; Baby Gear, Breastfeeding, Newborn Care & Soothing, Sleep and Postpartum Prep.

There is about 3 1/2 hours of course content.  Each chapter is divided into short videos that are on average 5-10 minutes long.  I did this so that watching a video or two per night, or whenever you have time, doesn't feel overwhelming. Hopefully, you and your partner can find time to watch most sections together.

Immediately! After your payment is processed you will receive an email to set up your course login and password and then you can start watching!

No, you can watch the chapters in any order you'd like to!

I do recommend watching the videos in each chapter in order and completing one chapter before moving on to the next but it's totally up to you! You'll be able to see which videos you've watched so you'll know where you left off.

  • Immediate access!

  • To-the-point content broken down into 5-10 minute videos!

  • Watch and re-watch anytime for the next 365 days!
